An Orchid by Karl Wiemer

Lioness silent in black orchids,
Pressed paw firm to warm earth.
Releasing musky aromatic spice.
Prowls through dense beauty.

Moon watchful over black orchids,
Cast beam searching dark petals.
Revealing glint of tooth. Motion.
Sees huntress still, concealed.

Lioness steps through black orchids,
Yielding blossoms caress smooth fur.
Infusing muscle with amorous calm.
Feels a chase rhythmic, inevitable.

Succulent black orchids round lioness revealed.
Padded motion hot through forest night,
Closing swift in still, moist air.
Paced by moon flicking silent through trees.
