M.C. (Manny) Alves was born in New England and is a long-time resident of NYC. He is the former editor of two Connecticut newsweeklies and author of a collection of short stories, "Conversations With an Ectoplasmic Llama Called Harry". He is currently working on a second collection as well as a novel based on the Revolution in Portugal in 1970. He can often be found under the influence of Irish whiskey at Elaine's.
