Adriana DiGennaro, 19, is a Creative Writing major at Bennington College in Vermont. Her first book of poetry, Peripheral Vision, was published in June 2001 by Writers Ink Press. In 2003 she was one of the featured poets in the summer issue of Triplopia.Com, an online literary journal. Ms. DiGennaro's poetry has also been featured in Red River Review, BigCityLit.Com, Waterways, Long Island Quarterly, Southern Ocean Review, Sidereality and The Improper Hamptonian. She was on Red River Review's list of nominees for a Pushcart Prize in 2001. She has read at the Huntington Poetry Society's Poetry Barn, PoetryBrook on WUSB FM, Borders Books and Music, Suffolk Community College, Runaway Bay Bookstore and Book Revue, among other venues. In 1998, her short story, "The Secret of East Beach" won an Honorable Mention award in the Newsday/Hofstra "Long Island: Our Story" Fiction Writing Contest. In winter 2002, she interned at Curious Noise Theatre, a Brooklyn-based theatre group comprised of Bennington alumnae, and in the winter 2003, she interned at Poets & Writers in Manhattan. She has just finished a second book of poetry, Acts of Contrition, for Writers Ink Press. |
