Christi A. Foist is a writer and photographer from Astoria who finds herself torn between employment and the mesmerizing sight of airplanes departing LaGuardia outside her kitchen window. When the lure of her computer screen has won out in this battle for the eyes, she has produced such diverse works as "The Cult of the Orgasm as Romantic Mysticism" (academic paper analyzing film, soul-mate relationships, and the place of religion in secular society) and "The Possibility of Communication: Values in the Images of Student Photographers" (M.A. thesis in religious studies).

She can be reached for queries about swing dancing, secularism and Arizona sunsets at swing_lover@yahoo.com.
